King James Version (KJV) - Version Information ...

Here is some information that I found about the KJV Bible.

Who wrote the King James Version of the Bible?

One individual—Richard Bancroft, the archbishop of Canterbury—
was notable for having the role of overseer of the project,
something akin to a modern editor of a collection of short stories.
The actual translating (writing) of the KJV was done by a committee of 47 scholars
and clergymen over the course of many years.

King James Bible, 1611. The King James, or Authorised, Version of the Bible remains the most
widely published text in the English language. It was the work of around 50 scholars, who were
appointed in 1604 by King James (r. 1603–25), and it is dedicated to him.

What is the KJV Bible based on?
The New Testament was translated using the Textus Receptus (Received Text) series of Greek texts.
For the Old Testament, the Masoretic Hebrew text was used, and for the Apocrypha,
the Greek Septuagent text was used primarily.

Which KJV Bible should I get?

Which one should I choose? Ultimately, the best Bible translation is going to be your choice.
Some prefer the KJV and some prefer the NIV. My personal favorite for Biblereasons.com is the NASB.
The Bible you choose needs to be carefully considered and prayed over.
Talk to your pastor and research your options.

What is the difference between the KJV and NKJV?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
When it comes to completely defining the difference between the KJV and NKJV,
using linguist specialists would be applicable.
1. KJV followers are likely to reject the NKJV.
2. The NKJV is written with word meanings that are more similar to today’s modern interpretations.
3. The NKJV includes Alexandrian texts
Why should I use the KJV Bible?
Many Bible translations go thought for thought or modernize
the English language for the
convenience of the readers. However, the King James Bible’s flowery
language uses the most accurate
word choice for the time period in which it was written, allowing
for a more accurate telling.
What language did Jesus speak?
Aramaic
Aramaic is best known as the language Jesus spoke. It is a Semitic
language originating in the
middle Euphrates. In 800-600 BC it spread from there to
Syria and Mesopotamia.
The oldest preserved inscriptions are from this period
and written in Old Aramaic.
What books of the Bible are not in the KJV?
All 15 books of the Apocrypha: 1 Esdras, 2 Esdras, The Book of Tobit, The Book of Susanna,
Additions to Esther, The Book of Judith, Wisdom of Solomon, Ecclesiasticus, Baruch,
Where did the Bible come from?Scholars now believe that the stories that would become
the Bible were disseminated by
word of mouth across the centuries, in the form of oral tales and poetry –
perhaps as a means of forging a collective identity among the tribes of Israel. Eventually,
these stories were collated and written down.
