Spider Plant

Spider Plant

This is the spider plant I got on Sunday, May 12. I replanted it in this pot. it was so crammed in the other pot. So far, it’s doing good I have it sitting in my window with my Thanksgiving cactus.

Spider plant – About – Chlorophytum comosum, usually called spider plant or common spider plant due to its spider-like look,
also known as spider ivy, ribbon plant, and hen and chickens is a species of evergreen perennial flowering plant.
of the family Asparagaceae. Wikipedia

DESCRIPTION

Scientific name: Chlorophytum comosum

Family: Asparagaceae

Order: Asparagales

Spider plant needs are simple: Place the plant in bright to moderate light in a room that’s a comfortable temperature for everyone. Keep the soil slightly moist. Once-a-week watering is sufficient in spring and summer.
in winter, allow the soil to dry a bit more between waterings.

How do you propagate a spider plant?

  • The easiest way to propagate spider plants is by putting the babies in water until new roots start to grow. The main disadvantages of rooting cuttings in water are that the plantlet could rot, and it can also go into shock when you transplant it into dirt.
Make sure you have some roots on them. I didn’t wait long enough of one of mine, before planting and it didn’t make it. I do believe I planted it too early, I should have let it get better roots.
