 The Ponytail Palm

Ponytail Palm

I wanted to do this blog post on a plant I received to review; etc.
I will be doing a full review in a few weeks, to giving me a few weeks to check out the plant, etc.

The plant is called Ponytail Palm and when I received it. it was in a big box and very well protective.
I got it out of the box, and it was so lovely. I decided to let it stay in the same pot for a bit, it came in a 6″ pot. you don’t have to transplant it until it’s outbound, rootbound from what I read so I can wait until I find a nice pot. I keep playing with the leaves 🙂 I love this plant.

So here is some information about the ponytail palm and how to take care of it.

First, let’s start with what is a Ponytail Palm.

A Ponytail palm, scientifically known as Beaucarnea recurvata, is a popular plant known for its unique appearance and low maintenance requirements. With its long, slender leaves cascading from a thick, bulbous trunk, the ponytail palm adds an elegant touch to any indoor or outdoor space. This drought-tolerant plant is a great choice for those looking to add a touch of greenery to their surroundings without the hassle of constant care and attention. Ponytail Palm

The ponytail palm can grow to 2 – 3 feet in your home.

Watering Frequency
Indoor ponytail palms should be watered less frequently than outdoor ones due to the controlled environment. During the active growing season (spring and summer), water your indoor ponytail palm every four to six weeks or when the top inch of the soil feels dry to the touch. It’s crucial not to overwater; excessive moisture can lead to root rot. Additionally, make sure the pot has proper drainage to prevent water from accumulating at the bottom.

Winter Dormancy
Ponytail palms often go through a period of dormancy in the fall and winter, during which they require less water. Reduce watering to once every eight weeks or when the soil’s top layer dries out during this dormant phase. Overwatering during dormancy can lead to root rot, so it’s crucial to adjust your watering schedule accordingly.

Signs of Thirst
Observe your ponytail palm for signs of thirst. If the lower leaves start to turn yellow or droop, it may be an indication that the plant needs water. However, it’s essential not to jump to conclusions. Always check the moisture level of the soil before watering.

Air Purification
Apart from their aesthetic appeal and ease of care, ponytail palms provide an additional benefit as natural air purifiers. Like other indoor plants, they help improve indoor air quality by absorbing pollutants and emitting oxygen. This not only enhances the ambiance of your living space but also contributes to a healthier environment for you and your family.

Indoor Ponytail Palms
Place your indoor ponytail palm near a window with filtered or indirect sunlight. If direct sunlight is too intense, it can scorch the plant’s leaves. South or west-facing windows are often ideal. Rotate the pot periodically to ensure even exposure to light, promoting balanced growth.

Soil
Use a well-draining potting mix for your ponytail palm. A mix designed for cacti or succulents is suitable. Good drainage is critical to prevent waterlogged roots, which can lead to rot. You can also add perlite or sand to the potting mix to enhance drainage further.

Pot Selection
Choose a pot with drainage holes at the bottom to facilitate excess water drainage. Ponytail palms prefer slightly crowded conditions, so select a pot that is just large enough to accommodate the plant’s root system. Repotting is infrequent and typically only required when the plant becomes root bound.

Fertilizing
Fertilizing is an essential aspect of ponytail palm care, contributing to healthy growth and foliage.

Frequency
During the growing seasons, which usually include the entirety of spring and summer, provide your ponytail palm with a balanced, diluted, organic liquid fertilizer every six to eight weeks or so. Reduce or eliminate fertilization during the fall and winter when the plant enters a period of dormancy.

Root Rot
overwatering can lead to root rot. If you have a feeling that your plant has root rot. take out the plant from its pot, prune away the diseased roots, and replant it in fresh, well-
draining soil in a new pot.

I will be doing a full review of the ponytail palm houseplant in a few weeks, as I want to have the plant first for a bit before I do a full review.
So please come back then to see what I think of this plant. 🙂 I’m sure it’s going to be wonderful 🙂

Now you can get this ponytail palm just like I got at My Perfect Plants

National Craft Month

National Craft Month

In March, it’s the end of winter and a great time to blossom outward into National Craft Month to show what you’ve been making by hand during the short, cold days of the season past.

What is National Craft Month?

In 1994, the Craft & Hobby Association created this wonderful celebration that we know as National Craft Month. In the beginning, it was designed to help people rediscover their creativity and learn about the wonderful world of crafting and all of its many benefits. (Of course, craft month is every month for us.)

The awareness-raising was meant to help individuals discover their hidden creativity and introduce Americans to outlets they hadn’t tried before, ranging from embroidery to candle-making to any number of other crafts. Over the years since, National Crafting Month has also come to signify a time for practiced crafters to start on a new project, try a new medium, or learn a skill they’ve always been curious about.

What can you do at Craft Month?

Jewelry, knitwear, cards, decorations, scrapbooking equipment, sculptures, materials, customized shoes, hand-stitched clothing, homemade baked goods – there’s always something for everyone. Be sure to share your crafty creations on social media and use the #craftmonth hashtag so all craft fans can take a look at your handiwork!

Craft month

How you can Celebrate National Craft Month

You can start up a new hobby, tell your friends about a craft you have going or done, and you can introduce your kids to other crafts.

For your kids let them get messy with glue, glitter, pipe cleaners, and colored paper – and then stick their masterpieces on the fridge, or if small enough you can frame them!

Another great idea is, instead of buying cards for birthdays or anniversaries, make some of your own. Make your gifts to give to family and friends.

Oh, and if you’re not crafty yourself, you could always visit your local craft markets you can pick out some beautiful handmade items. there are a lot of different crafts to choose from, crochet, knit, sew, painting and so much more – there’s always something for everyone.

When you’re finished, I would love to see the crafts you made, and I can even display them on the website.

So, this month, if you’ve been too busy to focus on your favorite craft, set aside some time and energy and see what you can come up with. You may even want to devote several hours to dabbling in a craft other than your favorite.

crafts

Hello,

I wanted to give you some information on the crafts I do or want to do, the pages they will be on, categories, and so forth, right now all of it’s all over the place and I need to come up with a better system for this.
I do love doing all kinds of crafts, I do like doing smaller crafts mostly, but if it’s something I want to do and it’s a bigger craft I will do that also. I like to do papercrafts as well, along with crochet and so much more.

I have some ideas of things I want to make, here are just a few ideas that I have right now, a pencil holder, paper clips, Buttons, homemade envelopes, soda bottle bank. I have more ideas written down and hope more to come. I might list my ideas on the page that it needs to go on so you can look forward to knowing what’s coming.

I’m working on the pages as well as the crafts, I have a page for my crochet patterns, one for Diamond painting, and one for crafts which is my main one. once I get too many designs for one thing, I will move them to a page of their own and keep adding.

Also, if there is a craft that you don’t see, and you are interested in please send me a message and I will see what I can do. I always love to get ideas from others.
Plus, you might have a great idea that I haven’t thought of.

toilet paper rollI’m also going to be working on Toilet paper holder crafts, so I have a few ideas for them as well. a few things with pill bottles as well. I have so many ideas it would take a half day to write them all down here 🙂

I’m also interested in taking some items from Dollar Tree and making some crafts out of the items. so, I guess I need to take a trip to Dollar Tree and scope out some ideas. then buy the things I need for those crafts and get to work. I might need to add a few more days in the week so I can do all these things I want to do.

My Crochet

My Crochet

My Soap saver

doily 22Well, I started crocheting when I was about 13, maybe a little younger.

I remember My mom crocheting. I wanted to learn, and she showed me how.
The first thing I made was a granny square. I started to enjoy crocheting. I crocheted for a little while, then I put it down, But I kept picking it back up through the years. I usually crocheted small Afghans or smaller things.

I think I got into it in 1998 and started crocheting clothespin dolls.
Then I started crocheting doll outfits. I liked crocheting doll outfits and kept coming up with more designs and just took off from there.
I did decide to submit a doll outfit. It got published in a magazine, but I never published anything else after that.
I also had a crochet club for a while. Then my hand started hurting, it would cramp up on me. I just couldn’t hold the hook for long at all. So, I had to give it all up.

But after a while I decided to try knitting And I did that off and on as well. I could knit! So, I made all kinds of different things and lost interest in knitting after a year or so.

I think I decided maybe a year or so after that I wanted to crochet again. So, I went and got some yarn and a hook, and I can crochet once again, yes, my hand cramps up once in a while if I crochet too long. I just put it down and start back up the next day. so no, I don’t crochet as fast and long as I use to, but I can still crochet and that’s all that matter’s to me.

I do and always had such a love for crochet. I remember when I was little. My Grandmother used to sit on her bed and crochet these beautiful Crochet outfits for the small dolls. They were some lovely gowns, it’s funny I love crochet doll outfits myself, guess I got that from her. She never went by a pattern. She designed all the outfits herself. I sure miss sitting there watching her crochet. It was just amazing. I don’t know what ever happened to her dolls and their outfits. But she did make some lovely, amazing gowns for them.

So now I made a webpage to add all my patterns, and crochet information on and I’m just taking my time designing and crocheting. I’m doing all the smaller items. like soap savers, wash clothes, bookmarks, paper clips, yarn doilies, etc.

I need to get someone to proofread my patterns. it’s been so long for me. 🙂 But for now, I will do my best to get the patterns correct and double-check them myself. I’m trying to get at least one pattern a week up on the site. I would like to add more than that, but I will try at least one for now.,
Please keep checking back to my crochet page as I decide and add more patterns.

All My Bibles

10/29/23 – All My Bibles

Hi, I thought I would write some information about my Bibles, what I have and will be working on, what I use each one for, etc.

I have been working in my Bible on and off, but really never go into writing in it. But for a few months, I started to read more online, joined up to get newsletters, and read about God, I got more and more interested in learning more and more about God. so, I just started in my NIV Bible.
So, I was working with the NIV Bible as it’s easier to understand than King James. but I do go back to that as well. I also was told about CSB – the Christian standard Bible which I fell in love with.
So now I use just the NIV and CSB, but I do go back to the King James for a reference when needed.

I am working on fixing my website and moved things around and I also took things out, so when you see the Bible it’s drop-down, you will see the list and I need to add the CSB in there. That’s what I will be working on Next that page. once I get all the pages done. this is when I will be adding my info, pictures, what I’ve been working on so forth. I will share all my information with you. I’m going to be working on all this, this week coming. then I can get into my Bibles, the following week. I can’t wait until then.

q? encoding=UTF8&ASIN=1535935049&Format= SL110 &ID=AsinImage&MarketPlace=US&ServiceVersion=20070822&WS=1&tag=allmyhappines 20&language=en USir?t=allmyhappines 20&language=en US&l=li1&o=1&a=1535935049 I also just bought She Reads Truth Bible; I got mine at Ollie’s, but I have seen it on Amazon as well.
I haven’t worked on it yes as I just got it.
I also just got the Inspire NLT The Bible for coloring and creative Journaling, they do have other ones as well, you can find them on Amazon, not sure where else you can find them. 🙂 You just can’t have enough Bibles. 🙂

Oh, and I also have a small Bible CSB for my prayer Bible, I’m getting ready to start this, just waiting on supplies, to start digging in. This Prayer Bible is going to be great; it will be so helpful. when I want to pray about something it will be so easy to find that prayer and pray about it. whether it’s about love, sickness, anger, etc. I love this idea a lot. It’s going to help me out so very much, with my prayers, and to pray for others as well. And it’s small enough to fit right in my purse, so it will go where I go. and when needed I can just pull it out and find just what I need.
q? encoding=UTF8&ASIN=1430082720&Format= SL110 &ID=AsinImage&MarketPlace=US&ServiceVersion=20070822&WS=1&tag=allmyhappines 20&language=en USir?t=allmyhappines 20&language=en US&l=li1&o=1&a=1430082720

I do love the idea that I can go back and forth in my Bibles, there is a purpose for each one. I have a study Bible, My regular Bibles, Journaling, Coloring, Prayer, etc. I just can’t put into words how this makes me feel. I’m sure some of you understand what I’m saying about that feeling.
I can’t wait to share with you all, all that I have and how I’m studying the Bible.
Now if I could learn how to put here how I feel and How I’m doing it all. I’m not one for words and sometimes mess them up. I’m just praying you understand.
I will start posting more next week as I get everything fixed and added to the website. My supplies come in soon, can’t wait. Until then, Bless you all, and thank you for reading this.

collaborations

10/05/23 – Good afternoon,

I’m working on collaborations right now, for my YouTube channel and to put on my website. I need to get more content on my YouTube and the website as well, I don’t have much and would like to get more. I’ve been slacking 🙂 So I have one collab coming on Saturday to review, but I want to do a few at once. The goal is to have a video going up once to twice a week.
Please contact me, if you have a product you would like to have reviewed.
or if you know someone please pass on my information. thank you.
I will be doing the collaborations in two ways, one I will do a video of it, and the second, I will do it on the Product reviews page on this site.
I also have a new set up so it should make things easier to do videos. I’m hoping this will be much easier, but we will see.I will also be adding reviews, and I will also be adding crafts I’m working on, halls, maybe my planners, Bible Journaling, and more.
So please keep coming back as I add more content to my site, if you have any suggestions, please let me know.Thank you.
